Doon Community Centre Playground

  2012-03-12 09.34.36.jpg?668 2012-03-12 09.36.18.jpg?668

We are proud to say that work has now been completed on the new Community playground. It contains state of the art play equipment for the children of the locality to use and enjoy.  It would not have been possible to proceed with a development of this nature without the support of all the community.

Many thanks to all who have donated their time and expertise to the project. We would also like to acknowledge the continued support of Ballyhoura Development Ltd who are providing aid of €90,294.00 towards the development of the playground. This funding is greatly appreciated as is the funding raised locally which amounted to €11,478.00

We hope to see everyone using the new playground. Go raibh maith agat!

45 Monster Drive

2012-03-18 21.03

Doon Community Council would like to thank everyone who was involved in Our Monster 45 Drive, which took place in the Community Centre on the 18th March last. The Event was a roaring success with twenty five tables of six players on the night, resulting in approximately €1850 to go towards the refurbishment of the Community Centre.

A special thanks to Fr. Tony Ryan and Mr. Paddy Treacy for all their ticket sales and organisation. Without their contribution, the event would not have been such a success.

We would also like to express our gratitude to Mr. Eddie Burke and St. Fintan's CBS Secondary School, for supplying and allowing the use of their chairs for the 45 Drive on the night. We also wish to extend our gratitude to James O'Brien, for collecting, transporting and delivering the chairs to the Community Centre.

''Go raibh maith agaibh go léir''
